Ugo L. Melchiori
Chairman & Head of Field Operations
Ugo L. Melchiori entered the construction trade in 1959 in Santa
Barbara, California. For over thirteen years he worked for a local
Santa Barbara builder, D'Alfonso & Sons. During those thirteen years
he learned and developed the craft of building, from project management
to production, and at the end of his tenure he was a full project
superintendent responsible for many local projects.
In 1972 Mr. Melchiori joined together with another employee of
D'Alfonso & Sons to form a partnership named G&M Builders. For over
seventeen years G&M Builders was responsible for the construction
of many commercial, residential, retail and other development projects.
Mr. Melchiori was responsible for implementing and finishing many
of the projects and worked closely with clients and many public
agencies during this time.
In 1988 with the retirement of his partner, Mr. Melchiori formed
the company of his name, Melchiori Construction Company, and incorporated
shortly thereafter. As Founder and Chairman of Melchiori Construction
Company, he is committed to the advancement of the corporation, with
the same continued commitment to quality, service, and production
that he has developed for over thirty years. Since incorporation
in 1990, Melchiori Construction Company has completed numerous commercial,
institutional, public works, seismic rehabilitation and multi-unit
residential projects. As a result, Melchiori Construction Company
has earned a reputation as the premier builder in the South Coast
region.
Mr. Melchiori had a significant part in the success of some of
Melchiori Construction Company's flagship projects including El
Patio Residential Community Housing, Sansum Medical Research Foundation,
the Old Mission- Multi-Phases, Italian Greek Deli, La Casa De La
Raza, the Pottery Barn Remodel, and the Devereux Foundation of California.
