MELCHIORI CONSTRUCTION COMPANY RECOGNIZED FOR OUTSTANDING BUILDER ACHIEVEMENTS AT SANTA BARBARA CONTRACTOR'S ASSOCIATION'S BUILDER OF THE YEAR 2000 AWARDS CEREMONY.

Santa Barbara, California (August 7th, 2000) - Melchiori Construction Company, a leading contractor in Santa Barbara, was recently recognized by the Santa Barbara Contractor's Association, at their annually held Builder of the Year Awards Ceremony on July 31,2000.

The Santa Barbara based awards has presented builder recognition since 1992, to truly new and innovating construction processes and excellence. To determine the award winners a detailed application along with photographs or slides of the projects were evaluated by an independent panel of judges and then awarded on merit, style, craftsmanship and quality.

Twenty-six nominations, from the South Coast region, were received this year. Of the twenty-six, Melchiori Construction Company received honors in three commercial building categories: construction of less than $750,000, construction for more than $750,000 and remodeling of less than $500,000. The projects honored included the Garden Court on De La Vina, an Assisted Living Facility for the Frail and Elderly located in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara, the Carousel Building at Chase Palm Park located on the Waterfront, and the Danica House Furniture Showroom.

This is the second year that Melchiori Construction Company has entered the Builder of the Year awards. In 1997, Melchiori Construction Company was honored with Builder of the Year, and in the future will continue to build quality projects to represent the Central and South Coast region of California.
